Abstract

The United Nations Environment Conference in Rio de Janeiro impelled the idea of sustainable
development into the view of public awareness. Sustainability refers to usage of resources efficiently and
saving the resources for the future generations, this can be done only by the collective work for both
individual and organization. Engineers plays a major role in this aspect, with their problem solving and
analytical thinking skills it makes them to virtually possible to provide solutions to all problems. With
increasing in the enrollment of engineers in the universities, it is their responsibility to enhance their
curriculum to modify their skill arsenal to face the pace of their modern world and counter its problems.
Data analytics is an emerging field, where this skill makes engineers to create an algorithm, combine
various outputs to create a pathway and deliver insights to optimize production processes to sustainable
future. Through the predictive analytics, one can come across and solve day-to-day questions
individualistically and improve their own efficacies which in turn provide their organizations with new
perceptions based on their detailed proficiency in engineering sectors. Hence, the great value can be
delivered to the owner-operator at all stages of the organization and leverage (human) resources more
resourcefully.
