Factors Influencing Expectation of Manufacturing Industries in Hiring Engineering Graduates

Abstract

Every organization has an important section. One of the most important sections is
human resource management which holds the major functions such as Recruitment and
selection. Good employees are considered as an important asset in every organization.
Suitable staffing includes choosing an individual with sound academic qualifications,
knowledge, skills, and attitude. The success of a corporation is totally depends much
on human resources. It’s one among the foremost important assets of a corporation.
Hence, this research is concentrated on the manufacturing industries' expectations
from engineering graduates. The research is descriptive. Convenience sampling
technique was adopted for the research. The researcher used both primary and
secondary data. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire from
manufacturing employers in Tiruchirappalli District. The secondary data were
collected from journals, thesis and research papers. From the entire population of
138, the data were collected from 102 respondents. The data were analysed using
factor analysis. From the analysis, it was clearly found that manufacturing employers
are recruiting engineering graduates on the basis of factors such as educational
background, compatibility, employability skills, talent & potential and personality
traits.
