Abstract

This paper examines the importance of mosques in functioning as public education, as well as functions as places of worship. The limited level of public education and the still limited access of the community to education must bring out creativity by utilizing all potential, including mosques. 83% of Indonesia's population is Muslim, with such a position the revitalization of mosques as an educational function will greatly assist in empowering the community. Moreover, the mosque or prayer room is the place closest to the daily activities of the community . The obstacle is, the strong belief that a mosque or prayer room is only limited to a function as a place of worship.
