CRITERIA FOR THE QUALITY OF TRAINING OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The quality of training of future specialists in various fields plays an important role in the education system of any country since people (as personnel of business entities) are the basis of any economy. The purpose of this study is the formation of criteria that should be common for higher educational institutions that provide high-quality student training. In addition, a survey was conducted among students to identify the characteristics of future specialists. Based on the results of the survey, it was determined which non-academic qualities that future specialists consider the most important for a highly skilled employee. The empirical part of the study consisted of a survey of bachelor students from four universities. The survey involved 300 students, of whom 66% were women and 34% were men aged 20 to 21 years old. All respondents are full-time students. The survey showed that students consider the ability to learn and develop as the most important personal quality, while respondents did not emphasize the importance of foreign languages in non-linguistic professions. At the moment, there are no clear criteria for assessing the quality of training of future specialists in various fields. There can be several ways to solve this problem: developing criteria for assessing the quality of employees, international criteria for assessing quality, reviewing the university’s work system, and introducing students to the developed criteria.
