CUSTOMER PERCEPTION ON PAYMENT OF LOANS DURING COVID-19: EMPIRICAL STUDY ON INDIAN BANK

Abstract

Non-performing assets (NPAs) are a threat for the banking sector of the world. Moreover, the Indian economy suffered from it mainly because it was counterproductive to Indian banks' results. This analysis was an attempt to detect the critical factors, the customer perception of loan payment during Covid-19 that was liable for banks' rise in NPAs. This paper outlines a self-assessment scale and examines its reliability and relevance to measure employee understanding of non-performing Assets. NPA's. 175 default Indian Bank borrowers gathered analytical evidence. The researcher used percentages, weighted average and chi-square measures. As per the study, seven of the top ten factors are related to the demographic variables' educational qualification and monthly income. Seven reasons the creditors cannot repay the loan. This is also the primary reason for Indian Bank NPAs
