Systematic Literature On Traffic Flow Simulation Using Cellular Automata

Over a period of time, it has been seen that diverse traffic models are implemented to predict traffic situation as the problem of traffic jamming has been wide spread all over the country. Among different traffic models cellular automata has been proved to be a successful approach for solving this major problem. The Cellular Automata (CA) models are able to capture those parameters of traffic flow which have not been captured by analytical or prevailing simulation models. The CA models are able to describe specific vehicle connections and link these connections to traffic flow parameters such as velocity, travelling time and speed of vehicle etc. In this systematic review different CA models are discussed which are either alone or hybridised with other models to analyse the traffic flow.
