Abstract

This paper is a part of a bigger paper which primordially contextualizes the sources of stress and how tertiary educators cope with these sources of stress. This descriptive type of study exemplified through the 80 completely enumerated faculty- respondents found out that their teaching activities made them stressful which may be sourced out from the four groups of sources of stress identified as student-related, teacher-related, school/environment-related and work-related factors. However, faculty members performed satisfactorily which is but a good result of the coping mechanisms as fully recognizing their work potential with proper recognition of one’s limitations and setting priorities and dealing problems accordingly. This is but a good take off point for future studies to venture on other variables and methodology significantly the phenomenological perspective of the sources of stress.
