The Press gives far reaching and target data of all parts of the nation's social, political, financial and social life. Press comes under the Concurrent List in the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution. Therefore, both the Centre and the States can make laws in regard to them. Press law is as much important for the Press as it is for the people and the cause it serves. Opportunity of the Press is significant on the grounds that it assumes a crucial job in educating residents about open undertakings and observing the activities of Government at all levels. Democracy came much later after the press came to India. The Press is the voice of people, it is considered to be the voice of the voiceless. The Press existed even before independence and it certainly proves that any sort of media or press is by the people of the state not by the ruling body.
