Abstract

Organisational objectives are concerned about its environment as well as growth opportunities. Both of these are depended upon efficiency of employees. Employee training and development helps to enhance their skills and competencies. Different types of training, including simulation, coaching and mentoring, and instructor-led training allows management to offer training to their employees to meet their development needs. In addition to that, these training activities also enhance efficiency of workforce. Employees with an enhanced level of skills and engagement become more productive. Through survey among corporate IT companies of West Bengal and Odisha, it has been illuminated that training and development of employees enhance organisational performance and productivity. Thus, this activity of an organisation is strongly related to growth and achievement. Employees from every dimension and designation can be benefited through proper training and development. Through performance appraisal, management can determine developmental needs of employees and can meet those needs by proper training. HR training also enhance skills of employees from HR department. As HR plays role of essential element of organisational performance and workforce management HR training and development has been an elementary element for corporate It companies to ensure its achievement. In this context, based on performance appraisal, corporate IT companies in India can ensure their achievement through HR training.
