Abstract

The last few decades are marked by the emergence of post-colonialism and its extensive studies, for instance, subaltern studies and nationalism which not only observe the process of colonization rather of decolonization as well with its focus on reconstructions of post-colonies as independent states. This paper took the theoretical framework of postcolonialism and its two ramifications; nationalism and subaltern studies to highlight the hegemonic factors which marginalize some specific sectors of the society and make them other of their nation. The subaltern challenge to nationalist discourse is used to expose the bare bones of nations’ empty shells. Questions of complete salvation of subaltern class in their independent post-colonies, their marginalization, socio-religious and economic positioning are the main focus of this research paper. It is an effort to highlight the above-mentioned issues in the context of the works of Muhammad Hanif and Zulifqar Ghose.
