Abstract

Background: Aims to reflect on the changes required after the industry will revives from the setbacks faced by COVID19; Providing the guideline for upcoming industrial changes according to designers and architects review.

Objectives

  • To creating a guideline post-COVID-19 for interio-architecture industry
  • To Rethink, Revaluate, Retrofit for Safer Workplaces (7)
  • To determining the facts of technological advancements
  • To predict how a future India Should be in terms of IA designs

Methods and Statistical Analysis: This exploratory research will be based on the expert opinion survey via online form filling sample collection methods, telephonic interviews, published interviews by designers and architects during the period of the pandemic situation aroused by COVID 19 in India. Convenient sampling technique used to collect the data. A Questionnaire prepared (based on the objectives of the study.) It was divided into 2 parts: one is the general choice base questions and 2nd part consisted of open-ended questions to describe their views.

Findings: At the beginning of 2020, the society has been challenged by the pandemic situation caused due to COVID-19 and has brought the interio-architecture (IA) industry to a standstill. The major cause of this situation was the unpreparedness of space design over such crises and no adequate measures used except the metal detectors and scanners at Airports, Railway stations, Metros, Public spaces that scans the materials carried by the human but not human bodies carrying a contagious disease; Where our design industry has wide considerations related to physical safety but needs to still develop on the technological advancement of human health safety.  The situation has led us to ponder over what should be the design perspective for upcoming spaces to prevent such crises in the future.

Application: To present the views of leading designers and architects, for future possible solution for Interio-architecture design
