Methodology for calculating the predicted level of competitiveness of the subjects of the tourism market in the region

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyse the methodology for calculating the predicted level of competitiveness of the subjects of the regional tourism market. Methods for assessing the level of competitiveness, their methodological basis, advantages, disadvantages and possibilities of using tourism enterprises in practice were analysed. By analogy with assessing the competitiveness of a tourist enterprise, the level of competitiveness of the aggregate of travel agencies in the Moscow region is proposed to be determined by the following main stages: selection of competitors from among the tourist regions of the Russian Federation for comparison; collecting the necessary information about competitors; development of a system of assessment indicators; calculation of single indicators of the competitiveness of the region under study and competitors; construction of comparative tables, determination and assessment of the level of competitiveness of the region. A method for assessing the share of a particular region in the market of tour operator and travel agency services is proposed; it is determined as a percentage by dividing the value of a certain indicator of the activity of travel companies in a particular region by the overall result, collected from 27 subdivisions of the tourism market of the Russian Federation. By comparing statistical data on the main performance indicators of travel agencies in the Moscow region with generalized data throughout the country, the share of the participation of Moscow travel agencies in the total volume of tourist services was determined and their rating was calculated on the scale of the Russian Federation. A system of estimated indicators, a procedure for calculating indicators of the competitiveness of travel agencies has been developed. The system of assessment indicators was formed based on the goals of assessing the competitiveness of travel agencies in certain regions and taking into account the available information.
