Abstract

Effective HR departments employing well-formulated HR policies in terms of high-performance work
practices have shown to be a valuable source for developing successful organizations. In different
contexts, high-performance work practices play different roles in enhancing organizational
performance and one such role hypothesized in this paper is its moderating role between knowledge
management and learning organization. Data for the study was collected through a survey of 362
experienced managers using a snowball sampling technique. For hypotheses testing, the structural
equation modeling technique was used. All the proposed hypothesized relationships were supported
and the results demonstrated that the managers with the systematic and efficient utilization of
knowledge management capabilities and focused high-performance work practices will develop a
learning organization that considered to be a most significant source of competitive advantage.
