Abstract

In developing economies like India, as the living standards go up and the demand for individual
transportation rises, cost-effective activity to emerging income per capita grow up. From the viewpoint of
energy supply, the availability of future and present oil supplies will become uncertain, the outlook of
getting higher oil prices also green concerns from emissions are the foremost challenges. For oil
consumption India grades 3rd in the world and consuming 97,103,871 barrels per day around 4.6% of
the world's total consumption. With the concern to decline future demand of transportation fuels, trim
down emissions, lift up energy security and to afford considerable energy savings, government policies
and market forces have to push the progress of proficient vehicle technologies and overall transport
systems.
