Abstract

The current paper investigates and evaluates the effectiveness of using frequency response function (FRF) as a method for rigid rotors balancing. This part of the study focuses on impellers between roller bearings which run under its first critical speed. Many parameters where tested here such as rotor width, unbalance mass magnitude and eccentricity of the unbalance mass. A theoretical model was developed in efforts to expect the correction mass and its location to reduce the required time for balancing job and save its related costs. But there is a noticeable deviation between experimental and theoretical results in range of 10 to 15%. A case study was solved to compare the new proposed new balancing method and other conventional balancing methods like four run method, graphical and influence coefficient methods the results were good.it can concluded that the proposed FRF method offers increase machine up time and machine productivity.
