Abstract

In recent years, poor energy efficiency has been a drawback for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). For the transmission of information in WSNs, various sensor nodes are used for communication. The creation of an energy efficient protocol for sensor nodes is ambitious and is desperately required to enhance the lifetime of WSNs. In this paper, various clustering-based routing protocols were considered for investigating the enhancement of the WSN energy efficiency. The key purpose of this study is to define the routing protocol that can best be modified to maximize the lifespan of WSN.
