Marginal Farmers and Landless Categories Financial Inclusion in Punjab's Border Area
Abstract
The primary goal of this research was to determine the financial inclusion of marginal farmers and landless people in Punjab's border region. During the 2017-18 academic year, the research was done in one of Punjab's border districts, Amritsar, which was purposefully chosen. To choose blocks, villages, and families from the research region, a multistage stratified random selection procedure was used. Chogawan and Attari blocks were chosen at random among the district's nine blocks. In addition, one village from each chosen block, namely Kakkar (Chogawan) and Bhakna Kalan (Attari), was chosen at random. Furthermore, 40 marginal farmers and the identical matched sample of 40 landless farmers were picked from both villages, resulting in an 80-farmer sample to meet the study's goals. The findings revealed a lack of financial inclusion among farmers.
