Abstract

A self-help group (SHG) is a small voluntary association of 10-20 poor people from similar socioeconomic backgrounds who come together for the purpose of addressing their common socioeconomic problems through self-help and mutual-help. SHGs collect small savings on a regular basis and deposit some of it with a bank on a regular basis. Agriculture is conducted on a vast scale in India, and agriculturists are encouraged to grow their investment and productivity. Agricultural marketing is the buying and selling of agricultural products in their most basic form. The current research focuses on the influence of SHGs on women's agricultural marketing roles in Shivamogga area. Women in the Shivamogga  district are mostly active in the selling of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, with little involvement in the marketing of other agricultural and industrial items, despite the fact that a large number of females work as sales girls in Shivamogga on a monthly basis.

Agricultural marketing is complicated by the fact that agricultural produce has a risk of perishability, which varies depending on the type of food. If the agricultural product is seasonal, it entails a different type of risk. Remove the multiple malpractices that now exist in the system.
