Abstract

Restaurants focus mainly on smart management to attract customers by delivering quality food at faster rate. This paper presents the design and development web application for ordering food in restaurants using JSP and Servlets. This application is developed based on a familiar programming language Java using several technologies like JSP and Servlets to take order efficiently. To run a servlet, an Apache Tomcat server is installed and configured. Once the server is installed, user sends request to the server, it analyzes and give response back to the user. The other technology used in this project is JSP, which is a web-based technology used to generate dynamic web pages. When the chef logins, he can add items using the page designed by JSP which redirects to servlet, where data can send to the database to store. Requests made through user login are stored into database using servlet. Based on their orders bill will be calculated and displayed in his web page using JSP.
