Abstract

Declining trend of inflow in many rivers and dams has been observed during recent decades. Upstream development and inter annual variations in rainfall has caused the both episodic and chronic shortage in water supplies and irrigation facilities downstream. There is various reasons like continued rapid changes in land use pattern, small water harvesting structures that is anicut in the catchment area and due to some other reasons flow in the Bisalpur dam is reduced. In this paper 27036 km2 of catchment area of Bisalpur dam has been analyzed by taking the rainfall data from the year 2017-2018. .
