Region of Stability for Single and Two Area Load Frequency Control Systems with Time Delay in the Parameter Space of PID Controllers Using Boundary Locus Method
Abstract
The inevitable time delay of communication channels in power systems plays a vital role in designing the controller for stabilizing the system. Thus, the maximum possible time delay is considered in this paper and the region of all possible stabilizing values of controller parameters for both single area and two area load frequency control (LFC) systems are calculated using a boundary locus method. Moreover, the transient response of the system is improved with PID controller than PI controller and the same is verified through simulation study in MATLAB.
