Abstract

This research article proposes a sinusoidal pulse width modulated (PWM) multi-level inverter having an optimum structure which facilitates 31 level output waveform. The suggested MLI architecture is aided with photovoltaic source fed buck boost converter. The buck boost converter is driven by a new hybrid open circuit voltage and well entrenched incremental conductance power tracking algorithm to make operate the PV panel at its peak power for the varying environmental conditions. The whole system is realized for a 200W system and interfaced with AC grid using simple ZCD-phase locked loop (PLL) logic. The whole system is realized in both simulation and hardware environment. The results reveal that the inverter topology and the PWM strategy are highly viable for rendering output wave form with meek total harmonic distortion (THD).
