Abstract

Hydroponics is one of the farming techniques for growing plant in a nutrient medium. Although many automated systems have been developed from past few decades, there were no fully automated system which control and monitor the growth by itself. Our paper introduces a complete automated system with the help of microcontrollers and the sensors which runs with smart solar power unit [1]. The system collects the Realtime data from the sensors like pH of nutrient medium, nutrient concentration, water temperature, intensity of light, water level using ultrasonic sensor and the camera to record day to day growth. Also, due to the nutrient absorption the TDS and pH undergo continuous variation [2], and if the pH/nutrient concentration (TDS value) varies, then the system auto dose itself to balance the pH / nutrient concentration. In case, TDS value and pH of nutrient medium does not balance within two hours after variation, then the system send the SMS alerts to concerned person for troubleshoot in Realtime. All the day to day sensor data are recorded to analyze the growth of plants and to know how the plants react to the climatic changes.
