Abstract

Induction motors are the working horse of the industry and nearly 85% of the motors are induction motors which are employed in industries. Induction motor shows better efficiency at rated flux and rated torque conditions but at partial loaded conditions they have a tendency of having poor efficiency which consumes a lot of electricity at these partial loads due to which operational costs of the drive increases. Hence, there is a need of optimization of efficiency as well as energy to save the global electricity consumption as well as savings in revenue also. In order to attain this objective, two novel control techniques named as ANN and ANFIS controller is presented here for energy efficient operation of drive. These controllers are tuned with the help of optimal values of current derived from mathematical calculations of induction motor. The performance of ANN controller is compared with the ANFIS controllers. The analysis of input power, output power and energy saving is validated which confirms the superiority of ANFIS controller over ANN controller.
