Abstract

Abstract: Study to inelastic displacement response spectra has great meanings in calculation of inelastic displacement response of civil engineering structures under seismic actions, also very important in theory and method of displacement-based seismic design of civil engineering. Based on strength reduction theory, inelastic displacement response spectra are calculated by applying strength reduction factor method to the elastic displacement response spectra. The difference of strength reduction factor models is analysed and the inelastic displacement response spectra curves calculated from different strength reduction factor models are compared and analysed. Study shows that the Vidic-Fajfar model uses two line sections to simulate the strength reduction factor, not considering the site condition effect, with values of the reduction factors smaller than other models. Inelastic displacement response spectra from the Vidic-Fajfar model have larger spectra values in small period's section. Inelastic displacement response spectra by Lv-Zhou model and Zhuo-Fan model have the same department of curve line section and straight line section, the curve line section are nearly close while the slope of the straight line section is different which would cause different calculation results of seismic displacement response.
