Abstract

The proposed dual feed patch antenna functions at the frequency of 8 GHz to 12 GHz. The proposed
antenna mainly focuses on X-Band application. The proposed antenna is a rectangular microstrip patch
antenna with a defect and two arcs in the ground plane. The defect is made by creating a circle in the
ground plane. The DGS (Defected Ground Structure) is used to increase the antenna performance. Dual
feeding is given through two microstrip lines. The feeds are excited by 90 degree out of phase. By using
dual feed the axial ratio of the proposed antenna is increased. RT Duriod 5880 substrate utilizes the
substrate material which is defined in the proposed antenna and it also includes the relative permittivity
of 2.2. The relative permittivity attains a thickness of 0.762mm. The proposed antenna attains 4GHz
impedance bandwidth and the return loss with the axial ratio of 0.92. The proposed antenna is simulated
by using CADFEKO sof
