Abstract

Mulk Raj Anand is one of the connoisseurs writing in English from India. His versatile genius as a short
story writer is well known to readers of India and abroad. Even today his writings have relevance to
certain contemporary issues such as exploitation of dalit, women and subalterns. The present paper is an
attempt to bring forth the compelling saga of the unprivileged strata of Indian society and those unheard
appeals and voices against injustice. The research also very simply exposes the methods of exploitation
through which the subjugated section of the society gets repressive responses.
