Abstract

Aim: To appraiseeffect of 3 different antioxidants oninfiltrationability ofresinbased sealer into root canal
dentinafter sodium hypochlorite irrigation.
Method: decoronation of 80 mandibular single rooted first premolars were performed to accomplish 14-mm
root length followed by segregationinto 4 groups of 20 teeth each. Cleaning and shaping was done using
universal rotary protaper to a size 30. 6% taper. Test specimens got introduced with 3.25% of sodium
hypochlorite as irrigating solution and 17% EDTA.Specimens from group II, III, IV were exposed to 10%
Gallic acid, 10% Ascorbic acid and 10% Sodium thiosulphate respectively. Following obturation with AH
Plus sealer and guttapercha, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis was done to note the maximum
dentinal infiltration of sealer at the cervical , middle and apical segment of each specimen. ANOVA test was
utilized for statistical difference.Result:Teeth treated with sodium theosulphate demonstrated Highest
infiltration of AH plus sealer in dentinal tubules. Conclusion:Enhancement of infiltrationof AH plus in
dentinal tubules was superior after using 10% sodium thiosulphate on root canal dentinafter treating with
sodium hypochlorite.
