AGUASENSUS - Product for Water Sensing in Borewells

Abstract

Water scarcity is one of the toughest challenges faced among most of the countries across the world.
In India, this situation is due to both natural and manmade causes. The main factor that is
contributing to the water crisis is the poor management of our resources. It shows a heavy impact on
Agricultural, Industrial and Domestic sectors. Farmers are unable to manage their crop cycles due to
unavailability of water on both surface and in ground. One of the key reasons for the shrinking
ground water level is the cropping pattern, which is skewed toward crops that use more water.
Finding a way to know the water levels in borewell could help in managing the resources, planning
another alternative. This can be achieved by using our product AguaSensus. It works by placing
sensors in the borewell at predefined regular intervals. By integrating the sensors to an android
application (App) we can get a view of water levels present in bore wells.
