Failure Mode Analysis of Railway Engine Spring

Abstract

The coil springs forms the basic part of the railways. Thus analysis of coil springs plays a significant role for railway spring designers and other suppliers. The project describes different types of failure, failure analysis of spring, system reliability, reliability improvement and regions of failure. In this project the failure data of spring is collected and then its failure density, failure rate reliability, graphical analysis, root cause analysis, system reliability and reliability improvement are separately calculated. This factor gives the different causes of failure and remedy over it.  This project also deals with the causes of failure, failure zone and graphical analysis of spring gives idea about the different methodology of the project. The current system reliability and improved system reliability may provide idea about the arrangement of spring over the railway engine. The arrangement of spring over the engine is not more enough to operate the system correctly, since its reliability is less as compared to improved reliability. This project finds the various causes of failure, the causes is finding out by graphical analysis and its reasons are find out by root cause analysis.
