Abstract

This paper is about making use of sensor to water the farm efficiently. In many parts of India today, we usually see furrow irrigation, which leads to wasteful use of water, thus to eradicate that, we aim to make calculated supply of water. This study proposes the idea of an automatic irrigation system with the help of sensors for crops in small as well as large sized farms, where farmers cannot think of investing in high-end technology. Also due to free flow of water there might be a possibility of over irrigation, which not only disturbs ground water level but also hinders the growth of plant. The moisture sensor detects the moisture in the soil and turns off the motor, thus avoiding the over flow of water.
