LEAN CONCEPTS IN SERVICE INDUSTRY- HEALTH SECTOR

Abstract

 Healthcare is being reformed globally. Two significant concerns in healthcare are continuously concentrating on costs and medical errors. These are correlated with: eliminating medical errors which lead to significant cost reduction. A good method of reduction in errors and process can be by using concepts can be linked to “Lean” concepts  that come from  the Toyota production System; jidoka and poka-yoke . These concepts are easy to implement which helps in reducing errors using often very simple modification. Poka-Yoke are designed to process mistake proof and zero-quality control.
