Abstract

The rapid economic changes in Indian history are post Demonetization. Demonetization is a forceful intervention in the Indian economy, this was the immediate move to bring down the black money market with the currency, updating has been used to stabilize the currency value and minimize inflation. The new currency notes are Rs 2000, Rs 500, Rs 200 and Rs100 has been replaced the old notes like Rs1, 000 and Rs 500. Most of the people in urban and metro cities can easily adopt digital banking facilities. This paper attempt to analyze the public perception towards demonetization. The study aimed to identify different kinds of perceptions of different people. I also observed that demonetization is how painful in the event towards common people and other sectors. This paper captures the recent changes in demonetization and how its impacts on the unorganized sector, small-scale industries, banking, and the general public. The study has been executed through a survey of public perception on post demonetization 107 respondents from Chennai city.
