DISTRIBUTED LEADERSHIP PRACTICE DIFFERENCES AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL LEADERS IN THE STATE OF JOHORE IN TERM OF GENDER

Abstract

Distributive leadership is a leadership theory that emphasizes cooperation among leaders. This study aimed to investigate the differences in distributive leadership practices among school leaders in Johor in terms of the school location. The study used a quantitative approach and involved 27 secondary schools from six districts in Johor. The study sample consisted of school leaders consisting of principals, senior assistants, senior teachers and subject committee members. The survey respondents were 358 people. Data were collected using the Perception Of Distributed Leadership Practices (PDLP) questionnaire by Hairon & Goh [12]. The data were analyzed using SPSS software version 25. The study found that there are differences in distributive leadership practices among school leaders in Johor in terms of the school location. It is hoped that this study will enhance school leaders' distributive leadership practices in school.
