Comparative evaluation of buckling resistance of NiTi Flex and One‑G file: An in vitro study
Abstract
Aim: This study was directed for in vitro assessment of buckling resistance of NiTi Flex and One.G file, Materials and Methods: NiTi Flex and One‑G files were assessed for buckling resistance test with application in the axial direction by universal testing machine using a speed of 1 mm/min with instrument tip positioned in a small punch cavity prepared on the stainless steel plate.A small punch hole (1 mm depth and 0.5 mm width). To elude slippage of a file this punch hole was arranged horizontally during force application The maximum load required to produce a lateral elastic displacement of 1 mm was recorded for each instrument. one‑way ANOVA test was used for analysis. Results: The outcomes specified that the buckling resistance of One‑G files is suggestively superior than NiTi Flex (P < 0.05). Conclusion: One‑G rotary files manufactured with conventional nickel‑titanium alloy displayed higher buckling resistance equated to NiTi Flex files
