Abstract

Mobile Ad-hoc Network is a wireless network wherein the nodes are joined together on ad- hoc or temporary basis. It has attributes like self-forming network, flexible, mobile nodes, no reliance on centralized or fixed infrastructure. The complete process of communication takes place by the intermediate nodes. At times, the intermediate nodes behave as malicious node by performing some attacks in MANET. In order to endow security to the network, here we have studied the categories of attacks, how do they affect network and their counter measures.
