Comparative Analysis using Finite Element Methods and Traditional Method of Natural Composite Hybrid Particulate Coir Polyester with Fillers Red Mud and Egg Shell

Abstract

Most researches have concentrated on developing natural fibres based composite material and covered most of the areas such as varying the fibres, varying the resins also varying the composition of the fibres this study deals with the development of a composite material that is fabricated with the natural fibre and in addition to improve its mechanical properties fillers like egg shell and red mud which are finely powdered. Compression moulding process is used to fabricate the natural composite material sheet. Particularly coir fibres are used to reduce weight and improve mechanical properties. The compression moulding process is used to reduce the formation of pores in the plate. The fillers egg shell and red mud creates good stability with polyester resin. The experimental result shows that fibre added filler composite has higher mechanical properties than base material composite and Finite element analysis for flexural test also done and compared with experimental results and found to be similar.
