Abstract

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) is an autonomous robot used for material transportation in the manufacturing or warehouse. AGV can be made more versatile on product transfer by installing collaborative robot for pick and place application. However, 6 axis robot arm is costly and underutilized for simple pick and place application. The aim of this project is to design and develop an AGV with linear manipulator with lower costs for warehouse application. In this project, the system is designed and developed with controllers processing real-time tasks such as obstacle avoidance, path navigation and object transportation with UI that allow authorized user to send command to the robot wirelessly with mobile devices. The system is able to perform pick and place task with over 95% accuracy. Better method of obstacle avoidance and object localization can be further explored for future works.
