Study of Sodium and Potassium based Glasses for Gamma-Ray Attenuations

Abstract

Alkali borate glasses based on sodium and potassium are synthesized with the use of melting and quenching technique & mass-attenuation was calculated with help of NIST XCOM program. The rigidity for the alkali borate glasses are estimated by the variation of densities & molar volumes. Further values of half value layer at various photon energies are compared.
