Implementation of Blind Spectrum Utilization Method for Cognitive Radio System Using MATLAB

Abstract

The global growth in wireless communication, applications and system problems of spectrum utilization has become more critical than ever before.  The over utilization of free bands in wireless communication by unlicensed users is increased. Due to increase in wireless application demand, network congestion problem increases.     To utilize the spectrum resource fully, efficient dynamic spectrum allocation and sharing scheme are very important. Therefore blind spectrum utilization method for cognitive radio system using MATLAB is implemented. In addition multi-path based constrained-GLRT (MP based C-GLRT) algorithm is implemented with Rayleigh channel. When secondary user (SU) requires spectrum service it send request signal to primary user if primary is free it allocate the spectrum to secondary user. The underutilization of spectrum and network congestion problem is solved. In addition the receiver operating characteristics parameters are compared.
