Optimal Sizing and Location of Type-IV DG with UPQC in an Unbalanced Distribution System
This paper develops an optimal location and sizing of Type IV DG (DG that supply active power and consumes reactive power) integration with reactive support using FACT Devices i.e UPQC (Unified power quality conditioner) in unbalanced nature of feeder based on power loss minimization technique. The loss can be minimized by using a power economy factor (PEF). The penetration level of DG is kept under 15% to avoid over-aggressive DG tripping. The results were tested on IEEE 34 and 123 bus systems.The simulation results illustrate the good applicability and efficacy of the proposed method.
