Design and Development of Smart Street lighting for Smart Cities.

Electricity is regarded as a boon to the mankind, so we should use that in an efficient manner. As we all know in this technological world none of us have time to save our resource whether it is light or any other resource. We keep on thinking about how to save it but as time goes on, we won’t do it. We are wasting most of the resources knowingly or unknowingly and also we are not aware of future happenings. For us thinking about the future at present is of major concern, if this wastage of electricity continues we cannot use electricity in our near future too. In the present world situation electricity has become the major outbreak and we depend on the conventional fuels like coal but as we know it is limited to us, so in order to overcome this we have solar panel in our system. Proper usage of electricity should be done and for that the primary step taken starts from Street Lights. In olden days street light just means a pillar which provides normal light but now this is not the case as the technology is upgrading everyday so the design of the street light and its working is changed as per our convenience. This paper describes how efficiently the street light is used and its shape is modified, switching on and dimming of lights is also taken into consideration, Changing of color of the Street light when it is too much foggy, By using IOT to provide messages to the concerned authority and a Gas Sensor which senses if the air in that particular area is polluted or not, if it is polluted it displays in LCD that air is polluted if not it displays it is not polluted. Using these fly horse neck shaped street lights there can be phenomenal reduction in the usage of electricity and it can also help in maintain the economic status of the nation.
