Structural Adaptation of Network Information Systems with Admissible Losses

Abstract

A method of structural adaptation of the network information systems to changes in the input traffic and the destabilizing effects is developed, which assures a high efficiency of the information exchange with the admissible level of the packets losses. In order to implement the method, the overall index of assessment of the information efficiency – the tangent of angle of the system bandwidth efficiency is used. The method determines the criteria of change in the system topologies, and a boundary value of the bandwidth with account taken of the admissible information losses. The conducted simulation proved the obtained method functionality to increase and to maintain the information exchange efficiency in a wide range of the input traffic change. Results of operation of the models, which are built on various principles, confirmed the trustworthiness of the obtained assessments of functioning of the structural adaptation procedures when assuring the admissible information losses in the system.
