Smart Garbage Monitoring System Using IoT and Blockchain Technology

Abstract

We live in a world where up-gradation of skills is very important in day to day life. It is also important to keep our surroundings clean for a good and wonderful hygienic life. The huge challenge facing us regarding dustbins is overfilling and spilling of garbage. Due to this, there is a huge risk of diseases on our health. To avoid such a situation, we have designed and developed a Garbage Monitor System using the technologies IoT and Blockchain. The multiple dustbins located throughout the city or campus is provided with a low-cost device which helps in tracking the level of garbage bins in this proposed system. For every dustbin a unique ID will be provided so that it is easy to identify which garbage bin is full and needs immediate clearance. When the bin is full it sends the intimation message to the admin for service. The proposed system is capable to response and updates the specific bin status in real time which in turn can help to minimise collection route and fuel rate to build a clean and healthy environment.
