An analytical study of consumer perception towards use of functional foods and their health claims
There is a consistent increase in concern of healthy food for healthy life. Due to work stress, imbalanced diet, and lifestyle adopted by the people given invitation to many diseases. Hence there is a need of additional nutrients that prevent consumers from illness and offers wellness. Hence a functional food that provides disease free life has been suggested by many nutrients and doctors. Current study focuses on the consciousness of customers towards functional foods, health claims and its influence on willingness to try functional food. It was a survey based research followed by primary data collection and analysis. Inferences were drawn from the data analysis and concludes that consumer’s socio-demographic attributes, health claims and benefits influences the consumers to buy the functional food.
