Examining the Motive of Facebook and Instagram Usage by Indian Users

Abstract

The appearance of internet has had an intense change in the way people communicate, do business, search, browse, learn and locate. Social Networking websites are one of the most widely used services. Instagram and Facebook are currently the most popular social media app among young people around the world. Most of the people between the ages of 12 and 24 are its users. The primary objective of this research is to examine the motives of using Facebook and Instagram among Researcher conducted an online survey to understand the topic of interest, motives. This study reveals the five major motives of usage of social-media by internet users. Motives of usage of social media platforms like “Instagram” and “Facebook” are namely “Social Interaction”, “Creativity & Self-Promotion”, “Mind Diversion”, “Documentation” and “Business Promotion”.
