Power Quality Improvement In Distributed System Using Fuzzy Based Active Filters

Abstract

            The main concept of this paper is to improve the power quality of distributed system using fuzzy logic control. In order to improve power quality a series and shunt active filters are proposed in this paper. These shunt and series active filters are designed in three level multilevel inverters for reducing harmonics. A suitable control diagrams are designed for both series and shunt active filters using dc-link voltage and the signals from the distributed system. In order to achieve better controlling of system voltage disturbance and maintain harmonic distortions these control algorithms are implemented with conventional PI and Fuzzy logic controllers. This proposed system is implemented in Matlab and verified the test results.
