An Efficient VM placement algorithm for reducing energy consumption in Cloud Data Centers

Abstract

Cloud computing is employed to obtain the benefits of cloud but optimizing resources is a difficult job .The matching of VM with physical machines are necessary on the road to reduce energy consumption and increase resource utilization .Since there are different types of tasks , the virtualization of these tasks make the consolidation of cloud data centers more complicated .The tasks are differentiated and the respective VM is selected and the appropriate host or PM is also selected to be distributed .The projected algorithm lowers the power consumption by decreasing the number of physical machines and lowering the task rejection rate .
