Enhancement of Power Quality by Using Power Electronics Transformer Based DVR

Abstract

In the present days, the improvement of power quality is necessary for sophisticated and the modern sensitivity loads and the non-standard voltage loads are connected to the distribution system due to failure of the frequency or current. For improving this power quality and operating the sensitive loads utilize the advanced and Power electronics control technologies. Voltage quality is one of the main problem for industrial customers, it was occurred by the several sensitive electronic functioning. In this paper Proposing a new Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) based on power electronic transformer system which is connected to the network in series to improve the quality of the voltage. It also represents the design, simulation and evaluation of DVR in SIMULINK / MATLAB for DVR control purposes, including a discrete PI controller and PWM generator. It also provides the relevant DVR results under conditions of faults: those are single and double line to ground and three phase fault etc. Hence, the DVR system gives better results.
