A Cooperative Approach for Implementation of Trust for IoT Networks
Abstract
Devices associated to the Internet of Things necessitate security. There are various security management techniques out of which trust management is found to be fruitful for resource constraint devices. The present paper proposes the trust evaluation scheme where trust is calculated via collaborative approach. The collaboration between the nodes is determined by transmitting the encoded packets, and in case if the correct decoded response is obtained than nodes are said to be cooperative else not. Simulations is conducted in contiki-2.7 cooja simulator to evaluate the model and sensitivity analysis of the model is done to derive the overhead and PDR of the approach. The overhead is reduced by 60% and PDR is incremented by 40%. For validation of the scheme we have performed T-test analysis and result is interpreted at 99.8% confidence.
